To Whom It May Concern:
This is a letter of recommendation for Vanguard Painting Ltd. This company recently painted the exterior of GM Place. Although we have a few areas to finish when the weather permits, we are very happy with the quality of the paint job and the service provided.
The job was very complex and involved all of the following: removal of the previous urethane coating on the metal panels, containment of both liquid and solid waste, manual grinding of all metal panels to create a profile prior to painting, priming of metal panels with an aluminum epoxy primer, top coating of the metal panels with a two-part polysiloxane coating, prep and painting of all railings, metal benches, light standards, awnings, flashings, windows, doors, light fixtures, gate signs, and rooftop metal structures. The equipment used to complete this work included man lifts, Bosum chairs, scissor lifts, scaffolding, hoarding, dehumidifier, heaters, vacuum truck, vacuum boom, containment tanks, forklift, ladders, pressure washers, and sprayers. The overall cost
of this job was in excess of $1 million.
Other aspects that made this job very complex were public safety and maintaining access to walkways, coordinating work with the scaffolding company, working with an independent on-site inspector, and dealing with all the different weather we encountered from September through December.
During the bidding process, we were looking for a company that could deliver a
long-lasting commercial/industrial paint job and also provide the beautiful finished product that a high profile building like ours requires. We are very thankful that we decided to go with Vanguard Painting on this project.
On a personal note, dealing with Quentin, Josh, and their hard working staff was a pleasure. I have every confidence that they will maintain this paint job throughout the warranty period, as they have followed through on everything promised so far.
